Jul 7, 2019 · The 5700 will not beat the 2080 in raw performance. But it's a value proposition. $350 right now for that card is a hell of a value. I don't ever attempt to game with top of the line cards.

5700 XT is mostly a 1080p120 or 1440p60 for current-gen games. Expected performance really. It's also funny how it's just about twice of a RX 580, to the frame almost. :sigh:, I need to clarify this. When I say 1080p120 or 1440p60, I'm talking about games that are 1080p30 or less on base consoles, X1/PS4.

May 21, 2021 · I have an XFX RX 5700 XT Thicc III Ultra. Friend of mine had an XFX 5700 non-XT. The thing didn't give a damn about the usual 1850 MHz clocklimit set by AMD, clocked to 2000 MHz out of the box. The cooler was enormous and at the same time completely insufficient. Such a weird card.

Apr 11, 2023 · If you are on budget get RX 6800 or RX 6800 XT. **AMD:**Not sure if you still looking but I recommended something that will give you a good leap in performance and at least 16G VRAM, that leaves you with only RX 6800 or RX 6800 XT, which gives very good performance vs cash spent.

RX 5700 XT Nitro+ Special Edition here. For me, in most of the demanding AAA games (AC Odyssey,Metro exodus and The witcher 3) all max graphics,1440p... never exceeding the 90-92 hotspot,while the normal gpu temps are in the 70-73 range, all with the fan curve set to max 40%. It really depends on the specific Gpu's we're talking about.

Aug 23, 2023 · If it's a reference card (Radeon branded), it uses a carbon thermal pad on the core, which doesn't go bad, but also doesn't have great performance. If it is the reference card with the carbon pad, replacing it with paste will probably give you worse temps unless you also add plastic washers behind the 4 core mount screws to increase pressure.

Dec 13, 2020 · I strongly suggest to use newer kernel, Ubuntu has already in repository 5.8 which will be soon part of 20.04.2 LTS. It is package "linux-image-generic-hwe-20.04-edge" which will install all depencies and after restart you will have kernel 5.8 with many fixes for RX 5700 XT. Also important part is to update Mesa driver.
