MCA warns of risk-to-life counterfeit pilot ladders
Jan 14, 2025 · Safety warnings have been issued over pilot ladders after the US Coast Guard identified counterfeit products during an inspection. 400 incidents involving pilot ladders were recorded in 2022, the union Nautilus International said, quoting MAIB analysis of feedback from more than 100 UK harbour authorities on pilot transfer operations.
