Maybe, but at no point did Goku seem doubtful that he could beat Vegeta as a SSJ2. I think Goku had the definite advantage against Majin Vegeta even as a SSJ2.

So as far as he's concerned, Goku had the upper hand. Yes, Great Ape Vegeta >>> KaioKen Goku. But that doesn't matter as far as Vegeta's concerned. When it comes to Majin Vegeta vs SS2 Goku, it was a fight that never got resolved. Vegeta knocked Goku out when his guard was down. Doesn't matter. Vegeta doesn't see it as a win.

Also note that characters don't just automatically get dozens and dozens of times stronger. SSj2 Goku and SSj2 Majin Vegeta were only a bit stronger than SSj2 Kid Gohan was, too.

Aug 19, 2021 · If he revealed super saiyan 3 from the start, I doubt Vegeta would even try to fight Goku, he'd be too demoralized. Goku could theoretically go to beat Dabura, but whether he would have enough time isn't completely clear, super saiyan 3 drains his time on Earth fast. If Goku is unable to defeat Dabura, Vegeta should still be able to do it.
