Manufactured in a variety of widths (3 ⅛″ to 14 ¼″) and depths (6″ to 48″), and in lengths up to 66 feet, with or without camber, BOISE GLULAM is tremendously versatile. Grades range from Industrial to Architectural appearances where customers can choose the ideal strength and appearance combination. (Laminations are 10-12% MC maximum 15%.)
Custom widths: 31⁄8", 31⁄2", 51⁄8", 51⁄2", 63⁄4", 83⁄4", 103⁄4", 121⁄4", 141⁄4" Depths ranging from 6" to 571⁄2" (depending upon the width) order basis. Please call to determine availability of …
Glued laminated beams (glulams) are used in a wide range of applications in both commercial and residen‐ tial construction. The tables in this publication provide recom mended preliminary design loads for two of the most common glulam beam applications: roofs and floors.
Standard depths for glulam members range from 114 mm (4-1/2′′) to 2128 mm (7′) or more in increments of 38 mm (1-1/2′′) and l9 mm (3/4′′). A member made from 38 mm (1-1/2′′) laminations costs significantly less than an equivalent member made from l9 mm (3/4′′) laminations.
Glulam beam sizes are represented by their width and depth. In the US, the depth of Glulam beam are range from 7 1/4 inches (184 mm) to 23 7/8 inches (606 mm). The width of Glulam beams are range from 3-1/8″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/8″, 5-1/2″, 6-3/4 inches and 7 inches.

Glulam is versatile, ranging from simple, straight beams to complex, curved members. Glulam is available in both custom and stock sizes and one of four appearance classifications: premium, architectural, industrial, or framing.
Individual lams typically are 1-3/8 inches thick for southern pine and 1-1/2 inches thick for Western species, although other thicknesses may also be used. Glulam products typically range in net widths from 2-1/2 to 10-3/4 inches, although virtually any width can be custom produced.
SmartLam glulam is available in both unbalanced layups for single span conditions and balanced layups for multi-span and cantilever conditions. To facilitate installation, all top sides of unbalanced layups are identified with a stamp to designate orientation.
Glulam beams are available in widths (b) from 42–215 mm as standard and the larger dimensions in the glulam range require special machinery to obtain good cut surfaces.
