A man died in a shooting Monday night in Kansas City, Missouri, police said. The shooting happened at a home near east 56 Street and Westridge Road.

Just after 7:30p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to 56th and Westridge in Kansas City on a reported shooting, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.

A Kansas City, Kansas man was sentenced on Thursday to 21 years and 4 months in prison for shooting a police officer in 2020. A Johnson County jury found Jesse James Flaugher, 37, guilty of attempted second-degree murder in October, as well as of firearm possession by a felon.
