A tragic fuel tanker explosion in Enugu State, Nigeria, killed 18 people and injured 13 others on Saturday. The accident, caused by brake failure, involved 17 vehicles on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

Those who died were “burnt beyond recognition,” the spokesperson of the safety corps rescue teams, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said. Besides the 10 injured, rescuers extracted three others who were unharmed.
