McLaren's Andrea Stella praised Lewis Hamilton's historic move to Ferrari but warned that McLaren will intensify their rivalry and challenge Ferrari on the track in the 2025 season.

Lewis Hamilton has been handed a deadline for his championship chances at Ferrari to be assessed ahead of what could be cracked up to be one of the most competitive seasons in the sport's recent history.

The incident happened during a three-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in the team’s 2023 F1 car.

Ferrari have confirmed that their 2025 F1 car will be called the SF-25, in line with their last two Scuderia challengers. Lewis Hamilton will debut in scarlet red this year and is set to drive the SF-25 for the first time at the official three-day pre-season test in Bahrain from 26-28 February.

It seems as though Lewis Hamilton might still be figuring out his footing at Ferrari's testing days. At least, based on the fact that the seven-time Formula 1 champion crashed during his second test day with the team, while testing in Spain.

When news emerged on Wednesday that Lewis Hamilton had crashed the 2023 Ferrari car in a private test in Barcelona, the natural response was that his acclimatisation in scarlet red wasn’t quite going according to plan.

Lewis Hamilton will have a maximum of three races to get up to speed at Ferrari at the start of the F1 2025 season. That is the claim of Sky F1 pundit Martin Brundle, who believes the seven-time World Champion has “already” shown that he is worth a reported $57million salary at Ferrari.
