KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes threw for 177 yards and a touchdown, most of it going to best buddy Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Houston Texans 23-14 on Saturday to advance to the AFC championship game for the seventh consecutive season.

C.J. Stroud, who dealt with a knee injury throughout the game after taking a hit in the first quarter, went 14-of-22 with 245 yards. He was sacked eight times, though, as Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo called several blitzes in the second half. He still had some nice scrambles, getting 42 yards on six carries.

With a Divisional Round win against the Houston Texans, the Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to the AFC Championship game and are hopeful for a Super Bowl three-peat.
