Yoshinori Kitase clearly has high hopes for the response to the next game

Square Enix devs are confident the concluding chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will satisfy fans regarding the game's story.

The producer of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy has assured players that the third part won’t be exclusive to PlayStation 6. The first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was initially a PS4 exclusive, before coming to PS5 and PC more than a year later.

Last year saw the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which was subsequently given a transformative upgrade on PS5 Pro, with an even more graphically impressive iteration released yesterday on PC. In an interview with 4Gamer (thanks, VGC ), producer Yoshinori Kitase was asked by the outlet about concerns current-gen players might need to upgrade:

Development on the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy has reached an important milestone with the completion of its story.

Kitase added Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura was given "homework" to give the remake project a conclusion that both respected the original Final Fantasy 7 and provided a new sense of satisfaction not felt in the original. This was completed by the end of 2024.

Square Enix has now completed the story of the third and final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. Speaking to Famitsu and translated by Eurogamer, Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi said development on the highly anticipated conclusion is progressing smoothly.

Considering the gap between Remake and Rebirth, Final Fantasy 7 fans have worried that Part 3 will be a PS6 game. Series producer Yoshinori Kitase has suggested that won't be the case, although his comment is up for interpretation It's not clear if he means it won't be exclusive to PlayStation,
