Washington County first responders learn more about $24M upgrade to communications system
Communication upgrades are coming to Washington County. Channel 11 previously told you commissioners entered into a $24 million contract with Motorola to solve a problem many say has been going for years. Wednesday evening, first responders packed the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department to learn more about the upgrades.
New 911 radio coverage coming to Washington County
This new NG911 for 911 radios is an 800-megahertz system that will cover all of Washington County. "The system is a fully integrated system," Sherman said. "It’s going to work with not only all of Washington County, but Beaver, Butler, Westmoreland, as well, and Fayette. We’re the only county in the area that was not connected to the court system."
