New York City’s former Covid czar has admitted to participating in what he called “private gatherings” attended by multiple people while the rest of the city was on lockdown and large get-togethers were prohibited during the pandemic.

Varma — who served as senior health advisor to then-Mayor Bill de Blasio during the height of the pandemic, talked about hosting orgies with his wife and attending underground dance parties with more than 200 people.

Dr. Jay Varma, then-Mayor de Blasio's senior public health adviser, conceded he "participated in two private gatherings" and failed to use the best judgment.
