North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles on Wednesday toward its east coast, South Korea and Japan said, days after Pyongyang unveiled a uranium enrichment facility and vowed to beef up its nuclear arsenal.

North Korea on Thursday said it successfully test-fired its latest short-range ballistic missile and a “highly upgraded” cruise missile during the communist regime’s most recent show of force.

North Korea test-fired multiple ballistic missiles toward its eastern seas, the South Korean and Japanese militaries said, adding to its military demonstrations as tensions with Washington and neighbors escalate.
