Rescuers worked 'tirelessly' to free the whale after it was found entangled on Thursday morning. A humpback whale that had become entangled at a fish farm on the Isle of Skye has been freed. A member of staff spotted the humpback in difficulty at the Invertote salmon farm near Rigg around 7am on Thursday.

A humpback whale has got into difficulty after becoming entangled in rope at a fish farm off Skye. Organic Sea Harvest said it had suspended normal operations at its Invertote site in the north of the island.
