Borussia Dortmund fired coach Nuri Sahin on Wednesday, a day after its 2-1 loss to Bologna in the Champions League. The loss extended Dortmund's losing streak to four games since the new year and dropped last season's Champions League runner-up to 13th in the standings.

Borussia Dortmund have sacked head coach Nuri Sahin with the team out of the German Cup and struggling in the Bundesliga. Sahin, who was appointed in June as Edin Terzić's replacement, was supposed to usher in a new era but the former Dortmund player's reign has proved short-lived with the team 10th in the league.
