Officially, Jalen Hurts remains in the concussion protocol five days before the Eagles host the Green Bay Packers in a wild-card round playoff game. But the tea leaves seem to be trending in a positive direction for the Eagles more than two weeks after Hurts suffered a concussion early in the first quarter of the team’s Week 16 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Perhaps the Eagles signaled Hurts' return to practice by waiving quarterback Ian Book, who was originally signed to the practice squad after Hurts' concussion, then added to the 53-man roster to serve as the third QB the past two games.

McKee, in his second year out of Stanford, threw two more touchdown passes after replacing Pickett and then made his first NFL start Sunday and defeated the Giants, 20-13. He completed 27 of 41 throws for 269 yards and two touchdowns while playing almost exclusively with fellow backups.
