On Wednesday morning’s Fox & Friends, co-host Steve Doocy said he heard the news when he saw that his own son Peter—also a Fox News star—was being talked about on Twitter as a potential press secretary in the forthcoming Trump White House.

"Is that real?" Doocy said, not believing it could be true. The Fox and Friends hosts did their best to pretend their colleague is completely qualified to be the Secretary of Defense, even though he has no experience running anything other than a shell charity that he paid his brother with.

Hegseth, who has been a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend” for the better part of a decade, has used the show to highlight his views about the US military. He has railed against the Pentagon’s adoption of “social justice” messages and argued that “woke” policies have hurt military recruitment.
