We visited Southsea beach yesterday, a mix of stones and sand. The promenade is wonderful, we walked along it from the canoe lake to Clarence pier stopping for coffee and ice creams along the way. Full review by Jan F

Nice pebble beach. Not too busy, plenty to see & nice walk to pier for ice cream. Car parking is a nightmare as ringing a number and trying to register a car took 15mins! Please consider a qr code se… Full review by Gemma M

Always my happy place since I got my graduate level job in Portsmouth and moved down from the North. Plus the seagulls are less aggressive than in nearby Brighton. Full review by O5951LLlauraw

For approximately 5 months of the year (from end of April I think) dogs are not allowed on most of the main beach, and only allowed in certain areas (for example towards the Eastney end of the beach). You do see people take dogs on the main parts of beach in the summer months but they are not supposed to. (I am a dog owner and live in Southsea).
