Hi - I am a traveler and simply reviewed Adrian Mendez, who is one of the independent guides of Monteverde. However of our 3 different ones in Costa Rica he was our favorite. He knows the forest in Monteverde extremely well and the Curi Cancha reserve in particular. He found many, many birds when we were there in August, including the quetzal. If you want to go birding I would highly recommend him. I don't have his contact info but booked him through the Arco Iris Hotel so you can try them. Good luck.
